An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission,
headed by Albert Jaeger, visited Serbia September 17-24, 2008
to review economic developments and prospects. At the conclusion
of the visit, Mr. Jaeger issued the following statement: The
economy continues to grow strongly and inflation is coming
down, but external deficits are rising in an unsustainable
way, while global financial conditions are worsening. To ensure
macroeconomic stability and address the mounting risks, a
strong supplementary budget for 2008 and a much tighter 2009
budget are needed. Hard budgetary choices will have to be
made. |

of Commerce attended the presentation of the WHITE BOOK 2008,
organised by the Foreign Investors Council on September 10,
2008 in the Sava Centre.
This was also the opportunity for foreign companies operating
in Serbia to express their views and suggestions regarding
improvement of the business environment in Serbia, directly
to the present Serbian government officials. |

Together towards European
city
Our main goal is to raise the
standard of living of the Belgrade citizens, but also to accelerate
the overall growth of Belgrade and Serbia, emphasized Jankovic.
Belgrade Chamber of Commerce initiated stronger cooperation
with the relevant departments of the City Government,
announced Milan Jankovic, President of the Belgrade
Chamber of Commerce. Better cooperation with the local
authorities, in this case Belgrade Government, is
most often crucial for carrying out the Chamber's
activities. Upon demand of the Belgrade business community,
he invited Dragan Djilas, recently elected Mayor of
Belgrade, to visit the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce
and meet for the first time since being elected with
the representatives of the Belgrade economy. more

OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF AUSTRIA–INSTITUTE FOR ECONOMY
IMPROVEMENT WIFI, FROM THE BELGRADE CHAMBER OF ECONOMY |

After
the four months of training, study visit in Vienna and successful
closing training of trainers, Nermina Ljubović, became the
trainer of the Chamber of Commerce of Austria – Institute
for Economy Improvement WIFI.
The diploma and trainer title will allowed them the training
of the businessmen according to the programme and standards
of the Institute WIFI, within the project WIFI- of the Chamber
of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
